The oil complex had been higher in trading on Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning, although it was rising more on the back of positive data for the economy than on moves seen in equities – which had been lower early Wednesday morning across Asia and opening weakly in Europe, with financial and resources companies getting hurt in the early trading.
