LOWER U.S. DOLLAR BOOSTS KC WHEAT FUTURES
Kansas City wheat futures traded higher today, extending yesterday's gains and finding support from a weaker U.S. dollar this morning, according to traders. Commodities across the board were supported by the weakness in the dollar, traders added.
Strength in soybean and corn futures continued today in Chicago, with China purchasing large amounts of soybeans from the U.S.
The Hard Red Spring wheat tour wrapped up yesterday in Fargo, North Dakota, with an estimate of 46.2 bushels per acre, up from last year's average of 37.7 bushels per acre.
KC Sep wheat was 7 ½ cents higher at $5.57 at midday.
CASH GRAIN: The basis continues to feel steady and fairly well supported, according to traders.
