BEARISH USDA DATA WEIGHS ON KC WHEAT
Kansas City wheat futures reached new contract lows again this morning, pressured by bearish data from the August USDA crop production, supply and demand reports.  The USDA is now estimating the U.S. wheat crop at 2.184 billion bushels, above previous trading estimates of 2.152 billion bushels and up from the July estimate of 2.112 billion bushels.  World wheat production was up by 2.8 million metric tones from July and is now estimated at 659.29 million metric tones.  World wheat stocks are now estimated at 183.56 million metric tones, up from the July estimate of 181.28 million metric tones.  The Kansas wheat crop is now estimated at 369.6 million bushels at 42 bushels per acre.
KC Sep wheat was 2 cents lower at $5.15 at midday..
CASH GRAIN:  The basis feels steady with a firmer tone in mid-protein levels, according to traders.
