Ags – Midday Report – Sept 24,2009

KC HIGHER DUE TO LACK OF SELLING INTEREST
In what has become a repeatable scenario, Kansas City wheat futures bounced higher today after a lack of selling at lower levels, according to traders.  Chicago Dec wheat runs out of selling interest in the $4.50 area, while KC Dec wheat is bouncing off of the $4.65 area, traders said.
The market opened lower initially with a stronger U.S. Dollar and weakness in outside markets, traders said.  Intra-market spread was a feature in this morning's session, with the KC July/Dec 2010 and Dec 2009/Dec 2010 trading actively, traders said.
USDA weekly wheat export sales were estimated at 509,600 metric tonnes, at the high end of the estimated range of 300,000 to 500,000 metric tonnes, traders said.

KC Dec wheat was 8 1/2 cents higher at $4.78 at midday.

CASH GRAIN:  The basis has a firm tone this morning, according to traders.
