ICE completed its acquisition of Climate Exchange. CLE shareholders will receive GBP 7.50 per share in cash, valuing the company at GBP 395 mn. ICE expects to recognize transaction costs relating to the acquisition of $1 to $2 mn in 2Q10 and $6 to $7 mn in 3Q10. ICE will also recognize a $14 mn loss in 2Q10 related to an FX option purchased to hedge exposure to a weakening US dollar between the acquisition announcement and closing dates.
FESE deputy secretary general Burçak Inel said “the underlying problem with data in Europe is the lack of availability of pre-trade OTC data, and the lack of consistency, granularity and poor quality of post-trade OTC data.” According to The Trade News, FESE members committed to provide separate access to pre- and post-trade data at a “reasonable cost” by year end, but fell short to back the introduction of a consolidated tape.
