CFTC Commitment of Traders as of June 30,2009

MIXED, LIGHT TRADE IN KC WHEAT – July 7,2009
Kansas City wheat futures traded mixed this morning in fairly light trade, according to traders.  After the recent big break in wheat, there was somewhat of a bounce this morning, traders said, keeping a steady to higher tone in futures.  Spring wheat crop ratings declined a little more than average guesses in yesterday's crop progress reports, traders said, bringing underlying support to prices.  There was still no real buying enthusiasm at market lows, traders added.
The U.S. wheat harvest is now estimated at 56% complete, and the state of Kansas estimated at 83% complete.  According to reports from the Kansas Wheat Commission, farmers in the northern part of Kansas have their combines rolling again after showers hampered some efforts over the weekend.
There were 5 delivery reintentions reported out of Salina against the KC July contract this morning.
KC July wheat was 1 1/2 cent lower at $5.41 at midday.
CASH GRAIN: Mill pipelines seem to be filling, and the basis feels heavy, according to traders.
